柔道 Judo "The Gentle Way" Unisex Joggers (Navy).

柔道 Judo (jūdō) "The Gentle Way", is a modern Japanese martial art and sport focusing primarily on grappling throws, trips, foot sweeps, and submission holds / locks.

Judo was created in 1882 by Jigoro Kano (嘉納治五郎、1860–1938). He studied traditional Japanese jujutsu (Jiu-Jitsu), but decided to eliminate "the most dangerous techniques" in order to allow Judoka (Judo practitioners) to hone their skills in mastering fewer techniques but with the full intensity of that of an athletic sport.

This method of sports training spawned much better fighters as a result and created the new "Kano Jiu-Jitsu", which is now widely known as Judo. Judo went on to become the predecessor to many other martial arts including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Sambo.

The ultimate goal of all Judo practitioners is "Seiryoku-Zenyo" 精力善用 (maximum efficient use of energy) and "Jita-Kyoei" 自他共栄 (for mutual welfare and benefit).
